The Trailer for William H. Macy’s, “Rudderless”

As a huge fan of William H. Macy, especially with his performance on TV’s Shameless, I am really impressed and rooting for this film. For a directorial debut, it is one of the most emotional and inspiring stories I have seen in a long while. From Samuel Goldwyn Films and director William H. Macy comes the story of a man’s redemption through his son’s music… “Rudderless

“Since the dire events that transpired with the resulting death of his son, Sam’s entire life has been ripped apart. Now, living alone on a docked sailboat where he drinks away his pain, he suddenly discovers a box full of demo tapes and lyrics written and played by his son. As he listens and starts to amaze at them, he has a revelation to perform the songs himself. With the help of Quentin, a young musician who has seen better days, the two of them form an unlikely duo that becomesĀ popularĀ and brings both Sam and Quentin some much needed closure in their lives. “

The film stars:

Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Big Fish, Public Enemies) as Sam

Anton Yelchin (Charlie Bartlett, Star Trek series, Odd Thomas) as Quentin

Selena Gomez (Spring Breakers, Monte Carlo, Ramona and Beezus) as Kate

Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch, The Hangover series, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) as Lisa

Kate Micucci (When in Rome, TV’s Raising Hope, Rio 2) as Peaches

with Laurence FIshburne (TV’s Hannibal, Man of Steel, upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as Del

and Felicity Huffman (Transamerica, TV’s Desperate Housewives, Magnolia) as Emily

The film is directed by William H. Macy

It will be released in limited theaters on October 17th, 2014.
