SDCC: Thor: Ragnarok Trailer

San Diego Comic Con had lots of exciting trailers for various Marvel properties like The Gifted, The Defenders, and InHumans.  It seems as if the next trailer from the MCU’s next outing, Thor: Ragnarok, may have completely stolen the show.  The trailer itself continues with the awesome retro ’80’s title treatment, sci-fi/techno music, colors, and is loaded with awesome moments.  We now have a better idea of the story structure as Thor is recanting the series of events to a Hulked down Banner post arena fight in the first trailer that Thor insists he won.  Yeah, right.  It’s become clear that the Goddess of Death Hela, quite possibly Thanos’ betrothed Death, intends on burning Asgard and all other realms down.  To do this she must’ve found away to unleash the firelord demon Surtur of Muspelheim, whom in the comics has the power to bring about Ragnarok.  We see the Hulk ready to collide with him at the trailers end along with battling the giant wolf Fenris, who is Loki’s son in the comics.

It looks like our Avenger chums are gonna have a team-up of their own to save the day enlisting Loki, Valkyrie, and maybe even one of Hulks Warsong from the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk comic arcs, Korg!  I expect this film to hold the final Infinity Stone, the Soul Gem, but Thor appears to have used the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube (Space Gem) to even the odds as he’s seen infused with cosmic power.  Staring Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Cate Blanchett (Hela), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster), Karl Urban (Skurge), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange), Jamie Alexander (Sif), Taika Waititi (Korg), Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), and Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theatres November 3rd.

Comics, movies, television, and games. Everything else is uncivilized.
