PRESSED TO THE NINES – GREAT INDIE TITLES FOR 7-23-2014

Our Rating

The indie scene has some truly amazing titles, and even more must-read books that we could get to in our “10 Spot” feature. THAT’s why we have PRESSED TO THE NINES, books that rated a 9/10 on our review scale that are at your local comic shops NOW! Let’s get started with…

TREES #3 (Image) – This very unique close encounter story is gaining steam as the focus shifts from the alien presence (the “trees”) to one woman’s search that leads her to become a student…but what does she want to learn, and how much danger will the lesson bring?  This is the best issue yet of Warren Ellis’ story, with excellent artwork from Jason Howard.  9/10

THE TWILIGHT ZONE (Dynamite) – J. Michael Straczynski has brought this iconic series to print so effectively you would almost swear he is channeling Rod Serling himself.  What would you do if you somehow knew of a great tragedy that was about to happen…and would you still take action if you knew that no one in their right mind would believe you?  The artwork is spot on from Guiu Vilanova with colors from Vinicius Andrade.  9/10

That’s it for “Pressed to the Nines” for this week – but we still have the “Great Eights” to go! And, keep checking back with TMStash throughout the week for all your news, reviews and commentary!
