Pressed to the 9s: INFINITE SEVEN, DOCTOR WHO

Our Rating

Welcome back to PRESSED TO THE 9’s, our look at some of the best indie comics available at your comic shop NOW! This week you’ll find INFINITE SEVEN #7 from Action Lab’s Danger Zone imprint, and DOCTOR WHO: THE LOST DIMENSION NINTH DOCTOR SPECIAL from Titan! Let’s get started with…

INFINITE SEVEN #7 (Action Lab/Danger Zone) – This has become a personal favorite – INFINITE SEVEN has it all! Writer Dave Dwonch continues to set genres on their ears with this action-adventure tale. This issue takes you back…way back with a story that will give you critical history for one of our characters…okay, maybe more than one of our characters. This is a don’t miss chapter of the tale – a lot of things will make more sense once you read this one. Arturo Mesa illustrates this with a look that will instantly transport you back a few decades, setting a perfect tone for the story. 9/10

DOCTOR WHO: THE LOST DIMENSION NINTH DOCTOR SPECIAL (Titan) – I love these event comics from Titan, where we see multiple incarnations of the Doctor brought together for a fantastic adventure. The advantage comics have is that we can see each Doctor in their prime…matched up in surprising ways. Here, we start with the Ninth Doctor and  Rose, and move forward with Madame Vastra and…okay, I’ll leave it there, but I will say you’ll see my favorite Doctor in this issue along with a lot of great characters. If you are a fan of any Doctor, this is the event comic for you! Cavan Scott is nailing this story – great script! The artwork is spot on, thanks to Adriana Melo & Cris Bolson (with colors by Marco Lesko & Dijjo Lima). 9/10

That’s it for our Pressed to the 9’s list for this week…don’t miss out on The 10 Spot and The Great 8s to see more of the very best in indie comics!
