Disney Star Wars Theme Lands Begins to Take Shape

Last April Disney broke ground on their Star Wars Theme Lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts which are set to open in 2019.  Four months ago Disney  teased fans with some concept art of what the 14-acre land will look like in Orlando, FL.  Today via Disney Parks Blog, Disney took this one step forward by sharing the current construction progress.  This involved the frames of two made to scale Imperial AT-AT Walkers.

Having trouble envisioning what theses will look like?  Disney has you covered with a video that visualizes what the AT-ATs will look like when they are completed and in their docking bay.

Disney plans to set the park around two main attractions, an interactive Millennium Falcon mission, and an adventure that puts parkgoers in the middle of an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.  This news has many Star Wars fans planning their life events around the 2019 opening.  One can only hope that they take one out of Harry Potter World and sell Jedi Robes and custom blasters and light sabers.  But leave your death sticks at home because Disney is smoke free.

With great power comes great responsibility, which is why I read and write about comics. Beats running around in spandex.
