The series centers around Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) and Caitlin Strucker (Amy Acker) who, after discovering their children Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White) are mutants, go on the run from a government agency. Once on the road, they will find help with an underground movement of mutants including Clarise Fong/Blink (Jamie Chung), John Proudstar/Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Marcos Diaz/Eclipse (Sean Teale), Lora Dane/Polaris (Emma Dumont), and Jace Turner (Coby Bell). The series, written by Matt Nix & directed by Bryan Singer, is a cooperative effort from Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Since the seoson has recieved the green light, a teaser was released with a full trailer to hit this Monday, May 15th.
The most interesting thing about the family on the run is the last name Strucker, as in Baron Von Strucker of Hydra. In the comics, the Baron has twin children of his own who are mutants. First Appearing in Uncanny X-Men #194, Andrea and Andreas, the Fenris Twins, were given mutant powers in the womb courtesy of Arnim Zola. Andreas can come at you with concussive force blasts while Andrea can blast you with disintigration level energy blasts. The catch is, their abilities are only active through physical contact with each other. This led Andreas to have his sword handle wrapped in his sisters skin after her death. There’s no confirmation at this point if any of this will be related to the Struckers from Hydra, especially since that’s MCU territory but it would be cool if some kind of link, no matter how little, is made.
