According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW has found their lead for it’s newest super hero show Black Lightning in Cress Williams (Prison Break, Friday Night Lights). Appearing first in Black Lightning #1 (April, 1977), creator and Luke Cage writer Tony Isabella retooled this character from a white racist who under stress would become the black hero Black Bomber. In this new series, Jefferson Pierce hung his tights up years ago but circumstances in his life have drawn him back in the mix once again. His power set as a metahuman deals with creating and using elecro-magnetism. Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil are handling script work while working with Executive Producer Greg Berlanti. Williams isn’t the first Prison Break alum to join the CWVerse and should be a great addition along with The Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.
