The 10 Spot: THE UNSOUND, VIOLENT LOVE, BLOODSHOT SALVATION

Our Rating

Welcome once again to THE 10 SPOT – TMStash’s round-up of the very best in Indie comics each week. This week brings us THE UNSOUND #5 from BOOM!, VIOLENT LOVE #9 from Image, and BLOODSHOT SALVATION #2 from Valiant! Let’s get started with…

THE UNSOUND #5 (BOOM!) – Cullen Bunn and Jack T. Cole continue to take us down the rabbit hole in THE UNSOUND, with some BIG revelations about the Mother of Blades…no spoilers here, check this out for yourself! I love the creepiness of a horror title by Cullen Bunn – his stories can make your skin crawl. THE UNSOUND is another masterpiece in the making – don’t miss it! 10/10

VIOLENT LOVE #9 (Image) – Frank Barbiere and Victor Santos’ modern day twist on Frankie and Johnny has been an amazing ride so far. I can’t help but cheer for the anti-hero of Daisy Jane. The story is picking up even more speed in this issue, with a moment that we’ve been waiting to see (and dreading to see) for a long time. VIOLENT LOVE is outstanding – and also 10/10

BLOODSHOT SALVATION #2 (Valiant) – I’ve become a big fan of Bloodshot…but what has happened to Ray Garrison in this story?  We continue to follow two timelines, one in which he may well be dead. But, in both timelines we have his and Magic’s daughter, who is becoming a significant player on her own This is another amazing story by Jeff Lemire, with equally amazing artwork by Lewis LaRosa and Mico Suayan (colors by Diego Rodriguez and Brian Reber). 10/10

That’s it for this week’s 10 SPOT – but we aren’t done yet with our round-up of great indie books! Be sure to look for PRESSED TO THE 9’s for more reviews of amazing indie comics!
