We work a good deal with corporate business documents with legal and financial elements - the TMs have proved to be enormously helpful for our team of translators! I’ve been translating now for nearly a year. I gave up trying to build my own TM as I very rarely got any good fuzzy hits (above 70%). I simply didn't have the time and the texts I was usually translated were simply too varied to produce a specialist TM. I decided to download a selection of the TMStash TMs and I can now see the benefit of working with decent size specialist TMs. They have been extremely helpful indeed, especially when using concordance! Also, my own translating skills are improving in leaps and bounds, as I learn through comparing the well translated source and target corpora.
